A bereavement is always a difficult time, and often a time when we feel the need of some spiritual support.
Normally the funeral director will contact Christ Church to start the arrangements for a funeral service. Some families find this eases the pressure to make arrangements themselves. Others like to contact the Church directly. You are welcome to do whatever you find best for you in the circumstances.
Once an arrangement has been made for a funeral to take place at Christ Church, the Churchyard or the Crematorium, the minister taking the service will visit the family to discuss the service in detail. This meeting usually takes places a few days or a week after the initial contact has been made with the church. It’s important this meeting takes place the week before the funeral to give time for the minister and funeral director to put together the order of service and arrange any music.
