Here at Christ Church Thornton we have lots of activities to help children, young people and their parents and families to find their place within the Christ Church family.
Playhouse at Christ Church

Playhouse is for babies and toddlers, and their mums, dads, grandparents, and other grown ups with parental responsibilities. It is a place of play and fun. With lots of other toys, songs, and a short Bible story, Playhouse is an hour of chat for the adults, and play for the little ones. We serve our trademark Tasty Toddler Toast for the children and tea and filter coffee for the adults. Come along and meet ‘Banjo Bob’ and friends to receive a warm welcome, learn some fun songs and meet new people.

We’ve taken Playhouse on the road and meet at Thornton Cleveleys Football Club on Gamble Road every Tuesday afternoon at 2-3pm. It’s the same chat, fun, songs and story, with the same Tasty Toddler Toast, tea and coffee!

Lighthouse

Come and embark on an illuminating adventure with Lighthouse, our weekly club for Primary School aged children. At Lighthouse our goal is to explore Sunday’s Bible story in more detail and get to know one another better. Play games, craft crafts, and tell stories. You can drop children off, or come and enjoy a hot drink in our cafe while you wait. Just don’t forget to pick them up again at the end!
Treehouse

- For ages 0-99
Treehouse is our afternoon service for children and families. We meet together in the hall to catch up on all the children’s news, to sing ‘Our God is Great Big God’ and other fun children’s songs, to award prizes and to hear our weekly Bible story. After that we split into groups for younger children, youth and adults to each learn about the story in our own way, before coming back together to share what we’ve learnt and ‘feed the fish’!
Sanctuary

- For ages 11-16
On the last Sunday of each month, after Treehouse, the youth take over the community hall for card games, table tennis, pool, Mario Kart, and just general hang-out. We serve pizza, snacks and squash in a relaxed atmosphere where the young people can get to know one another and have fun.
