This week you are receiving two ‘weekly emails’ due to a change of date about the Evensong with Rossall Chapel Choir and as a reminder about things taking place tonight. This also gives us an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ for the generous donations of food to the Food Pantry which have significantly helped in restocking the shelves.

ALPHA IS TONIGHT!
ALPHA is a short course that introduces the basics of Christian faith in a welcoming and engaging way. It includes a tasty meal, a short video on topics like ‘Who is Jesus?’, followed by a friendly discussion where guests are encouraged to express any opinion or ask any question they like. It’s a great course to come on if you’re exploring faith, and a great course to invite a friend to.
We’re running Alpha from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM on a Wednesday evening, starting TONIGHT and running until 6th December. This will run alongside with Lighthouse, so the children will join us for the meal, and parents can stay for Alpha while the children are at Lighthouse.
Sign up for Alpha at christchurchthornton.uk/alpha.

THE BOOK OF COMMON PRAYER We have around a dozen copies of The Book of Common Prayer, which forms part of the official doctrine of The Church of England. They books are old, have been well used, are deteriorating and are no longer up to date due to Queen Elizabeth’s death. Cambridge Press have published an updated Book of Common Prayer and we intend to purchase at least 60 copies (£10 each), to ensure we have copies in Church for use at Evensong services, Communion services and other activities and worship. We know The Book of Common Prayer is loved and valued by many and people will be delighted to have new copies. If anyone would like to make a contribution towards the costs of the books or to purchase all of them, please do get in touch.
