Marjorie Skerrett does – she was born on the 1st July 1925! Today is a special day for Marjorie Skerrett – she is 98 years young! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Marjorie! Congratulations from all your church family. Majorie, you are our most ‘mature’ member of all the congregations at Christ Church. We love you lots and hope you’ve had a lovely day. We’re sorry this email is being sent later than usual. Damian has been speaking at Whalley Abbey at a PCC Awayday for a Church in Preston, and Andrew has been on pre-ordination retreat at Whalley Abbey since Wednesday.
Tomorrow is a very important day in the life of our church. Andrew is being ordained ‘priest’ at 2:00 PM. It’s going to be a special service for him, and the other three being ordained. We’ll be joined by Bishop Philip who will be preaching, Bishop Tony who will be ordaining, as well as both Archdeacons and other Diocesan Officers.
We’re expecting a lot of people at the 2:00 PM service. You are most welcome to come and please be ready to welcome those visiting from other churches across the Diocese (supporting their Curates being ordained).
Please remember that tomorrow morning there is a combined morning service at 10:00 AM (replacing the 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM). This will be a Book of Common Prayer Service of Holy Communion, with hymns and worship songs.
Andrew will be leading his first service of Holy Communion at the Treehouse Service tomorrow at 5:00 PM. All are welcome even if you don’t normally attend Treehouse. It will be lovely to support Andrew and be present as he leads his first service of Holy Communion.
There will be refreshments at all our services tomorrow, taking different forms depending on the service.
