Weekly News on Friday 4 November 2022

Dear Church Community,

Good evening,

Ding dong merrily on high! We’ve been singing that tonight along with some traditional carols, at our first ‘Ye Merry Meadows Carollers’ – we had great fun!

Tomorrow is the next Christ Church FC football match – the team are heading to Carnforth. It’s going to be muddy!

I’m looking forward to seeing many people at Church on Sunday as we gather to worship God, hear him speak to us through the holy scriptures, and remember all that he has done for us through his sacrifice on the cross.

POP-UP PLAYHOUSE AT BURN NAZE

——————————-

Today was a great success – ‘Playhouse’ on the road’ at Burn Naze. Thanks to all who helped. During November, as well as taking place Monday to Thursday in the Community Centre Hall, Playhouse will be taking place at the Thornton Cleveleys Football Club on a Friday morning. It will be a free drop-in for pre-schoolers and their carers, taking place every Friday in November from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the new TCFC facility on Gamble Road in Burn Naze (FY5 4JH). There will be tea/coffee, toast and a short Bible story in a relaxed setting. This new venture (a trial for a month) is one of the foundations being put in place for our church plant in Burn Naze.

YE MERRY MEADOWS CAROLLERS

——————————-

We had a lovely time tonight singing carols. It’s not too late to join in if you’d like to come along. Do you like singing Christmas Carols? If so, come along and be part of something new – ‘Ye Merry Meadows Carollers’ who will sing at events over Christmas, such as at Rest Homes, the Tree-lighting service, and some of the services at Church. You don’t need to have any previous experience or training – this will be a group of carol singers, not an award-winning choir. It will be great fun, not taken too seriously but at the same time seeking to bring joy and gladness as we sing of our Saviour’s birth.

Gatherings to rehearse and enjoy being together, complete with hot chocolate and cake, will be on the following dates, from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM.

  • Friday 11th November
  • Friday 25th November
  • Friday 2nd December
