THIS TUESDAY: ALPHA SPRING TERM

This term, Alpha will run on a Tuesday morning between Playhouse and lunch (11:15 AM – 1:00 PM) from Tuesday 16th January through to the week of Tuesday 30th April with breaks for half-term and Easter. A creche is available if you need childcare during the video. You can book here: christchurchthornton.uk/alpha

WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY
Thornton Churches Together are promoting a Week of prayer for Christian Unity from 18th to 25th January 2024 on the topic ‘Go and do likewise’. The theme for this year’s worldwide Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is taken from the parable of the Good Samaritan, with prayers and reflections prepared by a team from the churches in Burkina Faso.

During the week, each of the churches in Thornton will incorporate some of this material in their regular mid-week services, as follows:

Thursday 18 January 10.30 AM at Thornton Methodist, Victoria Road East
Tuesday 23 January 9.15 AM at Sacred Heart, Heyes Street

SERVING IN CHURCH

There’s always lots of opportunities to get involved in the mission and ministry of the church and all our activities throughout the week, on evenings, and on Sundays are dependent on volunteers to operate. Volunteers help to set up and tidy up, provide refreshments, assist with (and in many cases run) activities, and keep our churchyard mowed and tidy.

Serving on a team is also a great way to get to know other members of the church family. If you don’t currently serve on a team at church and would like to, please do contact Damian or Andrew for a chat about where you might best fit.
